Jay Postma, CAMS, CFCS, President

Jay Postma is a nationally recognized leader in AML/CFT and sanctions compliance, with more than three decades of experience spanning regulatory operations, fintech, community banking, and advisory leadership. As Founder and President of MSB Compliance Inc., he brings uncommon depth and real-world insight to institutions navigating complex and high-stakes compliance challenges.

Jay founded MSB Compliance in 2006 to help financial institutions identify and solve problems others miss, overlook, or ignore.  Since then, he has built a firm trusted by boards, compliance officers, legal counsel, and regulators alike. His clients include fast-scaling fintechs, foreign entities entering U.S. markets, established MSBs, and banks and credit unions seeking to improve or repair their compliance posture.

He’s known for asking the hard questions, surfacing blind spots, and delivering results that stand up to scrutiny—whether for independent reviews, risk assessments, or complex remediation projects. Jay’s work goes beyond technical precision: it is grounded in practical experience, principled decision-making, and a firm-wide commitment to client success.

Jay’s career began at the Federal Reserve Bank of Atlanta, where he led high-impact operational turnarounds. He then held founding executive roles at several innovative financial services firms—including Towne Services (NASDAQ: TWNE) and El Banco de Nuestra Comunidad—helping shape products and services and compliance frameworks from the ground up. He later served as BSA Officer and Division Operations Manager at Flag Bank, where he advised executive leadership and the Board on evolving regulatory expectations.

Jay earned a B.S. in Management Science from the Georgia Institute of Technology and holds the following leading industry credentials:

  • Certified Anti-Money Laundering Specialist (CAMS)

  • Certified Financial Crime Specialist (CFCS)

Jay was also a founding Co-Chair of the ACAMS Atlanta Chapter. He remains an active participant in professional associations including ACAMS, ACFCS, and others dedicated to strengthening global financial integrity.

He was an acknowledged contributor to the Best Practices for U.S. Money Services Businesses: Anti-Money Laundering and Counter-Financing of Terrorism Compliance Program, Version 2.0 (August 1, 2024), a publication widely referenced by financial institutions and examiners across the industry.

Jay has also been a frequent speaker and panelist at fintech, MSB, payment processor, banking, and credit union conferences—sharing insights to help institutions navigate risk with clarity and lead with confidence.

🔍 Measured. Methodical. Relied on by those who value clarity over comfort.
